GSEP offers various leadership programs for Girl Scouts looking to work at camp one day or just hone the leadership skills with confidence!
For girls entering grades 7-12 in Fall 2026, they have the option to be a Counselor in Training, Camp Program Aide, or Wrangler in Training! These programs range from two weeks to four weeks depending on location and program.
Counselor in Training (CIT) I - Grades 10-12
Learn about leadership, safety, risk management, childcare, and all that it takes to be a camp counselor. CITs also get to enjoy traditional camp activities during their stay. Upon completion of the program, campers will earn the CIT I pin.
Counselor in Training (CIT) II - Grades 11-12
Already earned your CIT I pin and looking for more experience in a special activity area? If so, then CIT II is perfect! Spend two or more weeks at camp getting a taste of different program areas offered at camp and figure out what might be a great fit for you. *Prerequisite - must have successfully completed CIT I and obtained permission from the camp director.
Overnight Camp Program Aide - Grades 7-9
Returning campers looking to be more involved are welcome to be a Program Aide over 2 weeks at camp. Work as a team to design and lead overnight camp events for younger campers. Enjoy all the traditional camp activities while learning what it takes to be CIT one day! Campers earn their Program Aide Leadership pin.
Wrangler in Training (WIT) - Grades 9-12
This program is designed for campers who have taken Camp Program Aide, Take Charge and/or CIT and want to continue their experience - specifically at the stables! Shadow the riding staff and refine your horesemanship. Learn about horse care, barn management, and create your own lesson to teach. *Prerequisite - Successful completion of Camp Program Aide, Take Charge, and/or CIT. Also at least 3 years of horse experience at camp or the equivalent in overall riding experience year-round.
