Girl Scouts Love State Parks: Ridley Creek

Celebrate Girls Scouts Love State Parks (GSLSP) Weekend by joining your DCNR Park Naturalist for a morning nature hike. We will explore birds, trees, wildflowers and park history along the way, as well as covering related GSUSA badge requirements by request. Following the guided park nature hike, the Delaware Valley Orienteering Association (DVOA) will provide an introduction to orienteering class. Dress for the weather along with good walking shoes, water and snacks. Binoculars are a great addition if you want to bring along. Registration not required.

Girl Scouts Love State Parks: Hickory Run

Girl Scouts Love State Parks: Fort Washington

Join us for a ~2 mile hike around Fort Washington State Park. Learn how to prepare for a hike, then embark on a hike with a ranger where you’ll learn about the park, the plants, animals, and bugs that call it home, and investigate cool things you find along the way. Girl Scouts Love State Parks: Nockamixon

Girl Scouts are invited to join the park naturalist for a morning of birding. We will begin with a lesson on the use of binoculars and some basic bird ID, then take a 1-mile walk to test out our skills! Using our eyes and ears, we will look and listen for birds in both forest and lake habitats.

Girl Scouts Love State Parks: Jacobsburg Environmental Education Center

Mid-September is the perfect time to witness migrating monarchs on their way to overwintering grounds in Southern North America. During this program you will have the opportunity to participate as a citizen scientist for Monarch Watch, a conservation and research program based at the University of Kansas. Participants will learn to catch, handle, and tag monarch butterflies. We will also discuss current conservation efforts and ways that you can help the species to thrive throughout its life cycle. Registration is required.
