Take the Lead supports the phenomenal work that Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania (GSEP) is doing to give every girl the opportunity be a part of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) throughout our nine-county footprint. As GSEP’s signature fundraising event, Take the Lead is an event for the girls, by the girls.

Our Take the Lead events honor incredible women leaders from our community who are the positive role models our girls need today. They inspire girls everywhere and provide them with the courage, confidence, and character necessary to make the world a better place.

Participate in Take the Lead as a Lead Role Girl Scout toggle arrow

Did you know that YOU can also participate in Take The Lead?

There are a variety of Lead Roles available for Girl Scouts. There is something for every Girl Scout! In your interview you will be asked what role you would be most interested in.

In mid-October, a member of the Girl Experience team will reach out to every girl who registers for a Lead Girl Scout Role to set up a virtual interview. All Lead Roles require an interview for selection.

Girls will be notified if they have been selected for a Lead Role in November. Girls selected for a Lead Role will be required to:

Attend an in-person Lead Girl training at Camp Laughing Waters on Sunday, December 6, 2026 in the afternoon (snack provided).
Attend an in-person rehearsal at the Take the Lead event venue (snack provided). The Lehigh Valley Take the Lead will be hosted in a venue in the Allentown Area in late-April 2027. The exact date and location will be announced at a later time.
Attend the Take the Lead event (dinner provided).

*Also includes Take the Lead patch and rocker.
