Pot of Gold 2017 -Thank you!

VOL_17_Patch_PotofGold_web

Thank you for making Pot of Gold 2017 a huge success!  We would like to especially thank our Pot of Gold Committee, workshop presenters and staff for their support.

We hope that you had a great time and we look forward to seeing you at our next training event, F.A.L.L. Fall Adult Learn and Lead at Camp Laughing Waters on September 22-24, 2017.

Adult Awards 2017

We are gearing up for another great recognition event!  We had more than 100 nominations for this year’s Adult Awards – and that’s all thanks to your generosity towards one another!

The council awards ceremony will be held on May 2 at Camp Laughing Waters.  Registration will open in late March.  Check here for more details soon.

Numeral Guards and Years of Service

Numeral Guards and Years of Service pins are also available!  Council is happy to award Numeral Guards and Years of Service pins, over 25 and 35 years, at our annual Adult Awards Celebration. The deadline for submission of NG/YOS forms to be included in the celebration is April 1, 2017.

Due to our record system, we rely on members’ personal records for tracking their years of membership and service and accept applications on a good faith basis.

 Service Unit Awards

Interested in Service Unit Awards? Check out the Service Unit Chart of Awards below! Individual Service Units decide on their own nomination deadlines, and when they’ll present the awards – at a Service Unit Recognition Event, during a monthly Service Unit Meeting or Service Unit Event, during a troop meeting, or at the Service Unit End of Year Celebration. Contact your Service Unit Manager for more details.

The Nomination and Endorsement Forms for Service Unit Awards are fillable PDFs, found below.

Little Ways to Say “Thank You”

Informal recognitions on the troop/group and individual levels are great ways to say “thank you” to volunteers today! These sincere expressions of appreciation can be powerful when given with a personal touch. Examples of meaningful, informal rewards include:

  • A welcome or thank you card or letter
  • Skill-building learning opportunities (For example, how to use social media to network)
  • A recommendation for a promotion
  • Sending the volunteer’s supervisor or CEO a letter recognizing her/his contributions
  • Complimenting a volunteer’s work to a supervisor or co-worker (in the volunteer’s presence)
  • Showing interest in a volunteer’s personal life (such as asking about a volunteer’s grandchild or weekend plans)
  • Grade level Volunteer Pins

If you have any questions about how to thank your volunteers, please email volunteerawards@gsep.org.

 2016 Kick Off Carnival Follow-Up
