Delegate Training

If you are new to the Delegate or Alternate Delegate position, a Delegate training is what you need! Come to one of the three Delegate Trainings to learn more about your role in the Governance process.  Meet other Delegates from around Council and get information to help you navigate your way. Delegate trainings are open to all members and registration is required.  You may register using Online Registration.  To find the courses, search for ‘delegate’ in the search box.  If you have questions, please contact delegatemeeting@gsep.org

 

Delegate Trainings will be held on

  • Saturday, September 6, 2014, 10am- 12pm at the Shelly Ridge Service Center, Conference Rooms A and B (330 Manor Road, Miquon, PA 19444)
  • Wednesday, September 10, 2014, 7-9pm at the Valley Forge Service Center, Multiple Purpose Room (100 Juliette Low Way, Valley Forge, PA 19482)
  • Saturday, September 13, 2014, 8-10am in the Lehigh Valley (site still to be determined)

 

Delegate Meetings

Delegate meetings are a great way to meet all of your fellow Delegates within the Council and hear firsthand what is happening at the Council.  Delegate meetings are open to all members and registration is required.  You may register using Online Registration.  To easily find the courses, please search for ‘delegate’ in the search box.  If you have questions, please contact delegatemeeting@gsep.org.  We will be happy to answer any questions you may have!  

 

Delegate Meetings will be held on:

  • Saturday, September 13, 2014 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm in the Lehigh Valley area.  (site still to be determined)

  • Monday, September 15, 2014 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Shelly Ridge Service Center, Smith Lodge (330 Manor Road, Miquon, PA 19444)

 

Annual Meeting 2014

Spring Delegate Meetings

Service Unit Delegates

According to GSEP's Bylaws - Article II, Membership and Delegate Council:

1. Membership. The Members of the Council will be members of Girl Scouts

of the U.S.A. (GSUSA), age 14 or older, and currently registered through

the Council.

2. Delegate Council. The Council will have a Delegate Council which will

consist of the following:

     a. Service Units Delegates. Delegates elected by Service Units to

     represent the entire Council.

     b. Additional Delegates. Additional elected Delegates, if any, as

     determined by the Board of Directors.

     c. Board and Board Development Committee. Members of the Board

     of Directors and those members of the Board Development Committee

     who are not otherwise members of the Delegate Council.

     d. Girl Advisors. Girl Advisors to the Board of Directors.

     e. Girl Delegates. Girl Delegates elected as determined annually by

     the board.

National Council Session

The 53rd Convention of the Girls Scouts of the U.S.A. will be held October 16-19, 2014 in Salt Lake City, Utah. 

 

Delegates to the National Council

Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania is eligible to send 22 voting delegates as prescribed by a formula established by GSUSA in conjunction with GSEP’s membership. GSEP's Board Development Committee is now seeking candidates to apply for the position of Delegate to the National Council. These delegates will represent Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania at the National Council Session in Utah, and will remain in term through 2017.

 

Official Visitors

Non-voting members are welcome to attend as visitors and will be responsible for their own travel arrangements, take care of registering themselves for the National Council Session and cover all expenses. Registration information for official visitors will be posted on the official GSUSA Convention webpage.
