Plan a Birthplace Heritage Visit
The Juliette Gordon Low Girl Scout National Center is located in downtown Savannah. It was the Gordon family home where Daisy Gordon (Juliette Magill Kinzie Gordon) was born on October 31, 1860. In 1965, it became Savannah’s first designated National Historic Landmark. The Birthplace is one of the most popular house museums in the United States and welcomed its two-millionth visitor in 2001. Throughout the year, Girl Scout troops have the opportunity to meet other troops from all over the country and share activities. Visitors always include a mixture of families, individuals, whole Girl Scout troops, alumnae Girl Scouts, and the touring public from all over the world! Find out more...

Council Try-Its and Badges
Brownies, discover the Flower Frenzy and Marine Animals Try-Its. Juniors, there is a Marine Animals badge for you too!
Flower Frenzy is all about discovering the world around you and taking a closer look at flowers. The Marine Animals Try-It and badge are perfect for learning more about life under the sea and how you can work with dolphins, whales and other sea creatures.

GSEP Forms and Publications
are 'Going Green'

GSEP launched a "Go Green" initiative this year to create an organization that is environmentally responsible and to do our part to protect our girls and the environment for years to come. Part of this initiative includes responsible paper consumption. In addition to eliminating paper cups and installing recycling bins at all of our service centers, we now offer the majority of our forms and publications electronically on our website. Most publications become available online 3 weeks before they are printed. Some publications are made available only in limited quantities. Contact your Membership Services Representative to request a printed copy of a form or publication and they will provide it within 7-10 working days. Thank you for your support as we work to become more environmentally responsible.

The National Girl Scout
Pen Pal Network

Are you interested in expanding your troops friendship circle? Girl Scouts is all about making friends. And there’s no better way to expand your troop’s circle of friends than to join the Girl Scout Pen Pal Network. The National Girl Scout Pen Pal Network connects Brownie, Junior, and older girl troops with girls across the country to form lasting friendships. As participants in this program, troops (not individuals) are asked to correspond with pen pals for at least one year after the link is made. To participate, fill out our Pen Pal Request Form. Troops should not contact other councils directly.

Is your troop from another council?
Please contact the Pen Pal Coordinator at your council. In order to ensure girls' safety, Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania will only match girls from other councils who have come through their council's Pen Pal Coordinators.

Pen Pal Guidelines
Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania is a member of the National Girl Scout Pen Pal Network. We are able to make links with troops in other Girl Scout Councils in the United States, depending on availability.

  • Daisies are not eligible for pen pals.
  • All troops matched through the Girl Scout Pen Pal Network are expected to maintain correspondence for at least one year.
  • Pen Pal troops are not currently available through the network in Hawaii or Alaska.
  • Correspondence is for troops, not individuals. Leaders may not give personal contact information of participating girl scouts.
  • Occasionally a pen pal match can be made for a single Juliette; however this process can take up to 2 months.
  • It is okay to exchange pictures through the pen pal network.

How to get started

  • The troop decides together if they want to be a pen pal with another troop in the US.
  • Complete the Girl Scout Pen Pal Request Form.
  • Wait while the Council finds a troop that is looking for a pen pal. This generally takes 2 weeks.
  • You will receive a notification email from the Pen Pal Coordinator that includes how to contact the pen pal troop's leader.
  • You can choose to write a letter or email from the whole troop OR each girl and leader can write her own.

Questions? Please contact Danielle Andrews at dandrews@gsep.org, or 215.564.4657 extension 1024.

It’s more fun with a friend–
and you’ll earn a patch!
All currently registered girls in the current membership year can earn and receive a Bring a Friend patch. Please share this patch program with all girls in your troop. This is a great way to invite new girls to experience all of the positive aspects that Girl Scouts has to offer! Download the form here.
