HISTORIC KRAFTS ‘N’ KIDS
AT MUSIKFEST
AUGUST 4 - 8, 2008

Looking for a great summer activity? Come for an hour, a day, or all week.
Eastern Pennsylvania Heritage Patrol and the Historic Bethlehem Partnership offer historic crafts for troops or individual girls ages 6 – 12 Monday through Friday during Musikfest. For a schedule of activities and preregistration form to guarantee placement in classes contact Sandra Villard. Walk-in’s
are welcome. Location: The Historic Industrial Quarter, center city Bethlehem
Time: All day program 12:45pm to 4:30pm. Individual classes offered at 12:45pm, 2pm, and 3:30 daily.
Min/Max: 20 children per class
Cost: $3.00 per class or $10.00 for day (includes snack and child care between sessions).

HERITAGE PATROL AT MUSIKFEST
AUGUST 5 - 7, 2008
for all girls entering 7th grade or older

for Heritage Patrol members

Want to explore what Heritage Patrol is all about and earn an Interest Patch this summer. Heritage Patrol is a special interest group dedicated to learning about our local heritage, sharing this knowledge with others,
and providing service to local organizations working to preserve our heritage. New girls will learn how to teach crafts, explore some of the craft venue at Musikfest and earn the Artistic Crafts Interest Patch. Older girls teach the Kraft ‘n’ Kids program and work
on an interest patch of their choice during the week. Location: Luchenbach Mill in Historic Bethlehem Industrial Quarter
Times offered: 12:30 to 4:30 daily – older girls may vary schedule
Cost: Apprentice (new girls), $20.00
Journeywomen, $15.00
Masters, $8.00
Trainers, no charge

I Won't Grow Up
When: Saturday, July 19 from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Where: The Shawnee Playhouse at 5 River Road, Shawnee in Delaware, PA 18356
Ages: Brownies
Cost: $8 per girl: $5 per adult
Details: See a performance of Peter Pan and meet the actors for a question and answer session. A complete tour of the theatre is included along with the Let's Pretend Try-It.

Your Life Online, On-Air and On Screen
When: Saturday October 11, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Where: Temple University's School of Communication on Broad Street in Philadelphia
Ages: Cadettes and Seniors
Cost: $20 per girl and $20 per adult more than Safety Wise ratio
Details: If you're spending hours on line each day, this day is for you. At this event you will get a behind-the-scenes pass to reflect on the media that surrounds you- TV; magazines; movies; music; and the Internet.

Your day will include: workshops that explore how girls are portrayed in ads and on TV; useful tips to deal with cyber bullying; learning how mixing and mashing music can express how you feel; realizing the value of watching TV with a critical eye.

Parents and Adults will have an opportunity to take two workshops after lunch to discuss and explore how these issues involve caregivers. Sponsored by the Media Education Lab at Temple University.

Flower Frenzy is all about discovering the world around you and taking a closer look at flowers. The Marine Animals Try-It and badge are perfect for learning more about life under the sea and how you can work with dolphins, whales and other sea creatures.
