Have you ever wondered why some songs sound better sung outside? Come to camp to explore why! Use boomwhackers to perform a favorite Girl Scout song inside, then take your performance outside to see how it changes. Make some rainy day music as a group and create your very own rain stick so you can bring the music of nature home with you. All troops must meet girl-adult ratios for their group. Camp’s been resting and is in need of some fixing up to get ready for all the summer sunshine! Help sweep out tents, clear off trails, and organize supplies. At the end of a hard day’s work, celebrate with a campfire on Saturday night. There will be time for you and your friends to explore camp, too, by hiking, playing, and soaking up the sunshine. Bring work gloves, shoes you don’t mind getting dirty, and lots of elbow grease! All troops must meet girl-adult ratios for their group. Individual girls must be accompanied by a registered adult. If you build it, they will come! Come spend your week exploring the outdoors at Camp Shelly Ridge! Spend time on the rock wall in the activity center, aim straight as you practice archery, build a bridge and test its strength, build film canister rockets, and create beautiful arts and crafts projects! Play gaga and hike the trails at camp while forming wonderful new friendships. This week off of school will be a blast! Morning drop off is from 8:30-9am. Afternoon pick-up is from 3:30-4pm. Extended care is available 7:30-9am and 3:30-6pm for an additional $75/week or $15/day. Toad Detour – GK-12

Cost: $7/girl

Why did the toad cross the road? To get to the other pond! Spring is mating season for amphibians, and that means American toads are waking up from their winter naps to look for the perfect mate and the perfect pond to lay their eggs. Help shepherd hundreds of toads safely across Port Royal Avenue as they migrate to and from the reservoir during the breeding season. Volunteers are needed for evening shifts April 19-30, and again May 30-June 30. Volunteer orientation for Girl Scout groups will be on April 18. You must attend this orientation if you or your troop wishes to volunteer. All troops must meet girl-adult ratios for their group. Individual girls must be accompanied by a registered adult. *If you volunteer for three or more nights, you will receive a special Schuylkill Center patch. Register today!

Camp Laughing Waters, Gilbertsville

Ascend the Laughing Waters ropes courses high up in the trees and learn the true definition of teamwork on the low-rope challenge course. Afterward, you and your troop can wander the woods, play disc golf, and work on your outdoor-cooking skills. Remember: You must provide your own food for the weekend, along with additional activities. This is a troop-only event; troops must come with a Camp and First Aid certified adult.
