Have you heard the exciting news?
After a nationwide search, the National Board of Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) named interim leader Sylvia Acevedo the permanent Chief Executive Officer (CEO)!
From rocket scientist to CEO, Sylvia is an inspiring role model for girls. A lifelong Girl Scout, she held the title of interim CEO since June 2016. She is a persistent champion of girls' causes, and we know that with her leading the way the future is bright for Girl Scouts.
Sylvia is a familiar face to GSEP! We were honored to host Sylvia, Kathy Hopinkah Hannan, GSUSA Board President, and CEOs and Board Chairs from more than 100 councils at the National Board Chair and CEO Retreat in Philadelphia last fall. Sylvia met some of GSEP's Girl Scouts and even helped a troop complete a STEM project.
GSEP's CEO, Kim E. Fraites-Dow, was at GSUSA headquarters this week for the big announcement!
Please join us in congratulating Sylvia, the ultimate G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader) on her new role as CEO of GSUSA.
