Shelly Ridge

Your Director

After choosing her nickname of “Rocket” as a Junior Girl Scout in 4th grade (because she wanted to become an astronaut), Elizabeth Frederick’s future with Girl Scouts blasted off.

Starting as a Brownie, Rocket, along with both her parents, was heavily involved with Girl Scouts. She even participated in Wider Opportunities (now known as Destinations) and served as her council’s girl representative in the 85th Girl Scout birthday celebration.

Rocket worked at Camp Scherman, which is part of Girl Scouts of Orange County council, as the Camp Director for six years.

Rocket found her way to Pennsylvania in 2015 and became the Assistant Camp Director at Camp Mosey Wood, where she learned to appreciate the beauty of the Pennsylvania landscape. She began working in the Product Program department during the camp off-season and would return to Mosey Wood as assistant director for the summer of 2016. Now, Rocket is excited to return to camp once again as Director of Shelly Ridge Resident and Day Camp, where she hopes to continue to help girls and staff make new friends, have fun, and build confidence in themselves.
