Financial Assistance

At Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania (GSEP), we are invested in every girl. We believe that every girl who wants to be a Girl Scout can be a Girl Scout, regardless of financial situation. To help welcome in every girl and adult member, GSEP offers financial assistance to those in need.  

How to Apply For Financial Aid

Please click on the appropriate link below to begin the registration process. Enter all requested information. In the Ways to Participate section, please search for a troop based on a desires zip code and select "Unsure" if you would like assistance finding a troop. Please select "Individually Registered Member" if you would like to experience Girls Scouts in a non-troop setting or just wish to participate in camp and programs. 

NEW AND RENEWING MEMBERS - When you reach the Registration Summary page, please click the box under REQUEST FINANCIAL AID prior to checkout. Within 1 to 3 business days, an email with a link to the financial aid application will be sent to you.

Some things to know about Financial Aid: 

  • Financial aid is available on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are exhausted
  • Requests and application processing for Girl financial aid opens in April
  • Girls must complete the request/application by June 30, 2019 to qualify for the Early Bird patch incentive
  • Requests for Adult financial aid for membership can be submitted beginning in April, but processing of applications does not start until October 1, 2019. 
  • Girls who are interested in applying for the $25 shop certificate to be used for uniform components in a one-time only transaction will be sent a separate link upon successful completion and processing of their membership application. Please only apply for this option if you intend to use it. Processing financial aid shop certificates begins October 1, 2019. 
  • Due to a high volume of applicants, please allow 5-7 business days for processing.
Financial Aid Opportunities

Membership Dues 
Whether you're new to Girl Scouts or renewing your membership for the upcoming year, girls can request financial assistance for the national GSUSA membership dues ($25). 

Shop Certificate
Financial Aid shop certificates are awarded to qualifying girls with current memberships. The shop certificate is valued at $25 and can be applied for separately or in conjunction with a Financial Aid membership. To apply for a shop certificate with your request for a Financial Aid membership, simply follow the instructions in the application online. To apply solely for a shop certificate, please email memberservices@gsep.org and put FA: Shop Cert in the subject line.

Eligibility

Financial aid applications are reviewed by GSEP's Business Services staff. The amount of funds granted will vary based on need and available funds. GSEP funds are limited, and resources are used wisely to assist the greatest number of eligible members.

Our qualification guidelines for GSUSA membership dues ($25) follow the same criteria and wage guidelines as the Federal School Free and Reduced Lunch Program. If your family qualifies for free or reduced school lunch, your family will qualify for membership dues. You may submit your letter of eligibility from your child's school as your proof of income for membership dues financial aid. If your family does not partake in the Federal Free and Reduced Lunch Program, you must submit total household proof of income in order to be considered. Accepted proofs of income include: pay stubs from your employer, social security benefits, a SNAP benefits statement, a worker's compensation letter, disability benefits, and unemployment compensation.

Camp 2019 Financial Aid and Scholarships
Financial aid for the 2019 Summer Camp season is now closed as funds have been exhausted.

Girls may also be eligible to apply for one of our Camp Scholarships. Funds are awarded on a first come, first served basis.
