FUN starts here! One hundred women enjoyed a fun-filled, relaxing weekend at camp this August during the 21st Annual Adult Camping Weekend at Tweedale. The proceeds from the weekend benefit the Older Girl Scholarship program. Campers enjoyed lots of food, crafts, canoeing, archery, and smoothies by the pool! Guest speakers included Natalye Paquin, GSEP’s CEO, and Erin Reynolds, who did a presentation on the art of fan talking during the late 1800’s. More than $6,000 was raised for Older Girl Scholarships! Mark your calendars now for the 22nd annual ACW (August 17-19, 2012)! See photos supplied by Carla Hickey.

The brainchild of Mike Spletzer of Royersford, the Women in Aerospace and Technology Program (WATP) was developed to encourage an interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics for girls between the ages of 8 and 17. Offered on Saturdays throughout the fall, winter and spring, the program gave Spring-Ford Girl Scouts hands on experiences at the Helicopter Museum where they learned about the different types of helicopters, did experiments and had a bit of classroom study.
