New Hires

 

Cheryl Hess joined GSEP as Senior Membership Director – Region 2. Ms. Hess supervises and supports a team of Membership Managers and Membership Service Representatives throughout the Chester, Delaware, Lower and Central Bucks, Montgomery Counties. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications from Ohio University and has extensive management and administrative experience.


George Gorge was recently hired as Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Gorge directs the fiscal functions of the Council and ensures that the day-to-day financial operations proceed efficiently and effectively. He is a graduate of Drexel University, earning his Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Master of Business Administration in International Finance. In addition, he is a Certified Public Accountant with more than twenty years of experience in financial positions with major consulting firms and corporations. Most recently, Mr. Gorge was Executive Director, Finance and Sales Support for Olympus Corporation of America.


Sheri McDonald was hired as Youth Program Manager- Philadelphia.  Ms. McDonald is responsible for the development of comprehensive program services which attract and retain girls, develops the skills and self-esteem of girls, and embodies the beliefs and values of Girl Scouting. She is a graduate of Chestnut Hill College and Bryn Mawr College Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research, earning  her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a Master of Social Service and Master of Law and Social Policy.  Prior to joining GSEP, she was a Policy and Research Intern with the Department of Human Services.


Marissa Keough was brought on as Development Manager. Ms. Keough works with the Fund Development team, the Board, key volunteers, and other staff members to plan, develop and implement a comprehensive annual giving and major gifts program. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Communications from Bloomsburg University and has extensive experience in development, marketing and public relations. Most recently, Ms. Keough was Development and Marketing Manager with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia.


Rebekah Jastremski joined GSEP as Marketing and Production Coordinator. Ms. Jastremski supports all marketing functions, including campaigns and website updates, and also organizes all functions of the production shop. Ms. Jastremski holds a Bachelors Degree in Marketing and International Business from Temple University and recently worked as a Guest Services Representative at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.


Andrew McCarthy was hired as Grants and Communications Coordinator. Mr. McCarthy proactively seeks out institutional funding opportunities by researching and writing successful grant proposals. He provides stewardship for GSEP relationships with all sources of corporate, foundation and government funding and coordinates all aspects of development and grant proposals. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy from the University of Virginia and recently volunteered with WHYY and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.


Jessica Menefee joined GSEP as Product Program Coordinator. Ms. Menefee performs administrative and support services needed to fulfill the goals and objectives of the product program department. She earned a Bachelors Degree in Marketing from Temple University and also works part time asExecutive Assistant to the Sales Managers at the Blair Mill Inn.


Katrina Gable was brought on a Retail Specialist at the Valley Forge Shop.  Ms. Gable provides customer service while maintaining and operating the Council resale shop. She worked with GSEP previously for the Shelly Ridge Swim Club and for Camp Laughing Waters as the Business Manager in 2010.  


Sherri Dalecki was hired as Director of Community Partnerships – South.  Ms. Dalecki will extend GSEP’s capacity to deliver programs and recruit volunteers through partnerships with key organizations in priority locations. She will develop and maintain a network of GSEP non-profit partner organizations and track the impact of the partnerships.  Ms. Dalecki holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Virginia Union University and has extensive experience in membership and marketing.  Previously, she worked as the Director of Operations for the Princeton Review and as the Director of Membership and Marketing for the Girls Scouts of Chesapeake Bay Council. 


Margaret Barla joined GSEP as Director of Marketing and Communications. Ms. Barla manages the proactive and creative opportunities to expand the visibility and strengthen the image of the Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania. Through the development and execution of strategic and consistent marketing and promotional initiatives, she works to proactively develop comprehensive communications plans for the Council. She holds a Bachelors degree in English Literature and was recently the Director of Advertising and Promotion at the Franklin Institute.


Candace Brunger was hired as Human Resource Specialist. Ms. Brunger is responsible for recruiting and staffing, new hire orientation, and assisting in the development and implementation of the Council’s human resources function and performance. She has a Bachelors degree in Communication from Western Michigan University and a Masters in Organization and Leadership from the University of San Francisco.


 

Promotions

 

Rosemary Azeff has been promoted from Troop Camping Registrar to Registrar Lead. Rosemary will be responsible for organizing and managing all data entry and support services for property rentals, financial aid/camperships and registration.


Sharhonda Richardson has joined GSEP today as a FT Registrar.  Sharhonda has been with GSEP on a temporary basis in the Registration department since last February and will now join us full-time.


Nicole Frederick was promoted from Program Implementer to Learning and Support Specialist on the Volunteer Management team.  Ms. Frederick addresses volunteer training needs and retention initiatives, provides input to an annual training plan, and supports execution of the plan including training design, logistics, and delivery.


Heather Schoener will become the Berks Service Center Coordinator.  We thank Heather for  her commitment  and dedication to  our Membership Team and look forward to working with her in this new position.
