KEYNOTE SPEAKERS (check back soon for additional detail!)
Saturday, 4/21/12, from 4-5pm
Scott Harrison, Founder & CEO Charity: Water
After giving up a successful yet unfulfilling career as a club promoter in NYC, Scott Harrison left the streets of the city for the unknown shores of West Africa. He volunteered for a floating hospital with a group called Mercy Ships, a humanitarian organization that offers free medical care in the world's poorest nations. Over the next eight months, Harrison met patients who not only put a face to the 1.2 billion living in poverty but also most importantly taught him the meaning of courage. Out of this experience, Charity Water was founded with the sole purpose to bring clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations.
Sunday, 4/22/12, from 1 -2 pm
Elizabeth Gore, VP of Global Partnerships, United Nations Foundation
Elizabeth Gore currently serves as the Vice President of Global Partnerships for the United Nations where she is responsible for directing partnerships like the Girl Up campaign that unites girls to make change across the world. Last year Elizabeth joined the Summit on the Summit series and climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro as an effort to raise awareness for the global clean water crisis. Traveling to countries like Bolivia, South America and serving as a Peace Corp volunteer comes naturally to this Texas native and earned her a spot on People Magazine's 2008 Top Extraordinary Women of the year list.

In the America of equality that we seek to shape, girls will grow up with confidence that the future will welcome women to leadership opportunities as openly as men. The times will test our resolve to prepare generations of women and girls for the reality of the competitive climb they face. That's a teaching job, a coaching challenge. We must lead in our time so that they may lead in theirs. Leadership in this case is not a noun. It is a verb. An action verb.
